Unable to set actual start and end date

Being an engineer, I like to be accurate. So I want to set the actual start and end date to what really happened. In this case, 5:00PM to 11:00PM. This is an invalid entry. I acknowledge that there are a lot of constraints that are being considered, but there should be some way to say that normally I work 6 to 4, but in this case, the task got done in different hours. Then again, I’m pretty sure this is already a very complex program, so I just wanted to suggest this as an option.
