I am trying to set a specific view window for the Gannt portion of a project. When printing to paper or to PDF, it seems the way to effectively change this view window is with the zoom in and zoom out buttons. Recently, there is also a date range input window that pops up immediately after selecting Print, Print Preview, or PDF print options. I was hoping to print across a date range that corresponds to a specific “phase” of my project file. For example, the phase occurs over 6 months, but the total project duration might be 3+ years. However, even when entering the date range of the desired phase, the printed version still includes the full 3+ year timeline of the project, which compresses the Gannt for the 6 month range into being difficult to read.

Am I using the date range input window incorrectly? Or is there a better way to set up the project for better printing readability?

I have a project with a long overall duration (3+ years). I am trying to print a specific date range or phase of the project (a 3-4 month duration) for easier readability on the printed schedule. When choosing any of the print area functions (Print, Preview, PDF), there is a new window for entering a date range.

However, after printing to any of these options, the Gannt section of the printout is still set based on the zoom level, and still includes the overall project task durations (3+ years). Is there a way to cutoff the dates in the print area to only show the range of tasks that I want?

Thank you for the note: It is on our upgrade list. Our original hypthesis was”it is a cloud” solution everyone has access to the Gantt Chart anytime/anywhere…… our hypotheis that the up to date schedule was better than a print out C’est la Vie… we were not correct as there are many use cases. We will update in a future release
