Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)

ProjectLibre Cloud utilizes a sophisticated Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) system. This ensures that every user has the exact level of visibility and control required for their specific job function, protecting sensitive data while streamlining the user experience.

Access is role-based: use standard roles or create fully customized roles with Inherited Roles and granular Privileges checkboxes. A second layer — project-level access (Portfolio → Manage Access) — controls which projects a person can open and their role on that project (PM, Team Member, Schedule Manager, and so on). Administration tabs: Users · Teams · Roles · Licenses · Payment · Company. Assign org roles by dragging onto a user; add people to teams by drag-and-drop.

Default User Roles

The platform comes configured with five standard roles. These roles determine what a user sees upon login and which actions they are permitted to perform.

Role	Access Level	Key Responsibilities
Administrator	Full System Access	Manages the entire organization. Can add/remove users, view all projects, and create or modify custom roles.
Portfolio Manager	Global Oversight	High-level visibility into every project in the cloud environment. Ideal for executives requiring broad monitoring and reporting.
Project Manager	Management Focus	Can create, edit, and manage projects. Access is typically restricted to projects within their designated team or department.
Team Member	Task Execution	A focused view designed for contributors. Users can view their assigned tasks and provide real-time progress updates.
Resource Manager	Resource Oversight	Specialized access to the Resource tab to manage global availability, skills, and detailed resource information.

Customizing Your Workflow

While these default roles provide a comprehensive baseline, ProjectLibre Cloud is highly flexible. Administrators can create custom roles with granular privileges and combine them with project-level access (team and individual assignment, PM vs TM on a project). Note: RBAC is the engine behind your “Clean” interface. If a user is not assigned to a project or does not have the appropriate role, that project will not appear in their Portfolio, ensuring a focused and secure workspace.
