Portfolio
How the Portfolio view lists and schedules every project you can see, and how to add, import and open one.
Path: left nav Portfolio. When you log in, Portfolio is often your starting point — a shared browser environment for multi-project, multi-user work on the same live data (no emailed project files / version confusion).
Watch: Portfolio View. See also: Creating a New Project · OBS · Manage Access · Dashboard · Adding & opening projects.
Spreadsheet + Portfolio Gantt
Left — portfolio spreadsheet. Each row is a project you have permission to see. Columns include ID, Indicator, Name, Duration, Start / Finish, Budget Status, Schedule Status, % Complete, OBS, cost fields, Benefit, and Risk — with more available through Field Configuration. Sort, drag-and-drop reorder, and color-code projects.
Right — Portfolio Gantt. Each project shows as a summary Gantt bar on a shared timeline so you can see starts, finishes, and overlaps without opening every project.

Flat list vs Group by OBS
Toolbar control tooltip: Group projects: flat or by OBS code. Menu: Flat list | Group by OBS. OBS can represent departments, business units, regions, customers, or programs — see Organization & Structures — OBS.

Multi-select resource subscreen
Select one or many projects in the spreadsheet to open a bottom resource loading subscreen. Graph metrics include Peak Units, Overallocation, Remaining Availability (also Work, Cumulative Work, Percent Allocation, Cost…). A resource can look fine in one project and overallocated across the portfolio — this view reveals combined demand. See also: Resource Graph · Resource Leveling.

Alternate Portfolio views
Under Portfolio in the sidebar: default list+Gantt · Spreadsheet · Metrics (dashboard-style widgets — see Dashboard) · OBS/hierarchy view. Select a project to open an editable project details bottom pane.

Role-based permissions control which projects appear and which tools you can use. Continue with Adding & opening projects for create/import workflows, or open a row and go to Project View.
Portfolio Management: Adding and Opening Projects
The Portfolio View is more than just a list of names—it is your primary functional hub for initializing work and migrating existing data. Two of the most critical functions performed at this level are Adding/Importing projects and Opening them for active management.
Watch: Create New Project Video

Adding and Importing Projects
From the Portfolio interface, users with the appropriate Role Permissions can either start a project from scratch or import data from external sources.
1. Creating a New Project
To start fresh, simply locate an empty row in the Portfolio spreadsheet.
-
Click into the row and type your Project Name.
-
Once the name is entered, the project is officially created within the cloud environment.
2. Importing Existing Projects
If you are transitioning from desktop software, ProjectLibre Cloud supports seamless migration. For the full current workflow (New Project → Import, resource mapping, Peak Units), see Importing Desktop Projects. Formats commonly cited include:
-
.pod: ProjectLibre Desktop files.
-
.mpp /.mpx: Microsoft Project files.
-
.xer: Primavera P6 compatible files.
Important: These are standard industry formats, but you should review schedule logic, links, and constraints after import because third-party export quality can vary.
Opening a Project
Active project management occurs within the Project View. To transition from the Portfolio to the workspace:
-
Select: Highlight the desired project name in the spreadsheet list.
-
Launch: Click the Open Project icon in the toolbar.

-
The Result: By default, the system will launch the Gantt Chart view of the selected project.
Visibility & Teams: If a project does not appear in your Portfolio list, your Role may not have permission to view it, or you may not be a member of the Team assigned to that specific project.
Advanced: The Edit Project Dialog

While the Portfolio view manages the “container” of the project, the Edit Project dialog (accessible once a project is open) allows you to modify its DNA.
-
Main Tab: Most data here is inherited automatically from your task-level entries once planning begins.
-
Manual Edits: You can use this dialog to rename the project or add high-level Notes.
-
Project Calendar: One of the most important settings found here—use this to define the global working schedule and holidays that will drive your project’s timelines.

Next Steps
-
For a New Project: You will land on an empty Gantt Chart. Proceed to the Create Tasks section to begin building your WBS.
-
For an Imported Project: Your schedule will appear as defined in your source file. You can immediately begin using the Dashboard or AI features to analyze and optimize the plan.
For more on importing projects, see Importing Desktop Projects.
